What ingredients do I need for this Vegan Garlic Bread?

french baguette: From a bakery or store bought.

plant-based coconut blend dairy-free yogurt (I use Siggis): Any plain vegan yogurt to mix all the ingredients into.

olive oil: A healthy fat to help crisp up the bread.

garlic: Immune fighting properties and also delicious!

herbs: fresh oregano, flat leaf parsley, fresh thyme, fresh basil

salt & pepper

How do you make this Vegan Garlic Bread?

1. Preheat oven on broil

2. Cut bread

3. Mix yogurt, herbs, garlic and olive oil together with a pinch of salt and pepper

4. Add extra drizzle of oil to bread and rub garlic clove on

5. Spread yogurt mixture on the bread, top with vegan parmesan.

6. Bake on broil for 5-8 minutes until bubbly and crispy!!

Yogurt has many health benefits like helping to keep your gut and microbiome balanced from the probiotics it contains. It helps with keeping the “good” gut bacteria in check and reducing inflammation inside of the gut. Plant based yogurt also contains more fiber.

What kind of yogurt should I use?

Any plant based plain yogurt will work. Just make sure it is not flavored.

Extra Helpful Tips

  • If your bread is on the staler side, don’t fret, gently run the bread under a light stream of water. When it bakes, it’ll be good as new!
  • To save time, mince your garlic ahead of time and store in an airtight container in the freezer.
  • When using herbs, buy plants instead of packages that are one time use. This way you will be able to harvest your own herbs and it is cost effective, as well!

the ingredients

  • 1/2 loaf French baguette cut lengthwise
  • 3/4 cup dairy-free yogurt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 6 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tsp fresh oregano
  • 2 tbsp chopped flat leaf parsley
  • 1 tsp chopped fresh thyme
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh basil
  • salt and pepper

instructions

  • Preheat the oven on broil.
  • Cut the bread.
  • Mix yogurt, herbs (oregano, parsley, thyme, basil), garlic and olive oil together with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Add an extra drizzle of oil to the bread and rub a garlic clove on the open faced bread halves.
  • Spread the yogurt mixture on the bread, top with vegan parmesan, and then put in the oven.
  • Bake on broil for 5-8 minutes until bubbly and crispy.
