Notes on Ingredients
- Avocado: Be sure your avocados are just slightly soft and ripe. If they’re too hard, they aren’t ready to be used.
- Cilantro: Fresh cilantro elevates the flavor of guacamole and makes it taste like it’s from a restaurant! I used Josie’s Organics.
- Lime: Fresh lime juice will add to the flavor of this guac and keep it from turning brown while it sits out as an appetizer.
- Jalapeno: Feel free to omit, but sliced jarred jalapenos add spice.

Commonly Asked Questions
When you store guac in the fridge, leave 1 avocado pit in the container and squeeze extra lime juice over top, this should prevent it from browning for the most part! Otherwise, if you’re serving it to a crowd, I’d recommend making the guac as soon as you can to serving time.
I love cassava grain-free chips. They’re delicious and made from cassava root flour instead of corn which is easier to digest.
I used the fresh, pre-washed organic arugula for my authentic 5-minute guacamole from Josie’s Organics, an amazing all organic company that grows their produce in the fertile California Valley. Their family farming business dates back to the 1920’s, when two young Swiss immigrants, Sebastian and Josie Braga decided to start growing beets, tomatoes, onions, hay and corn. Today, three generations later, the organic family farming tradition is being kept alive! Josie’s Organics harvests over 25 varieties of USDA certified organic veggies. If I see Josie’s Organics in the grocery store, I snatch it up because it’s truly such fresh produce. You can find their produce at stores like Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Sprouts and more. Josie’s Organics doesn’t use any synthetic fertilizers or pesticides on their farms. This is so important! Be sure to look out for Josie’s Organics in your local store! Use their store locator here!
