Why I Love This Recipe
- Easy Dinner: This is a 20-minute dinner. Throw everything over top a healthy pizza crust and bake it in the oven! Quick and delicious.
- Plant Based: Chickpeas add protein while keeping this pizza vegan. The homemade vegan ranch is made from hemp seeds–but you won’t even miss the dairy!
- Packed with Flavor: This is the perfect sweet & savory flavor profile from the tangy barbecue paired with red onion and a homemade dairy-free ranch.

Notes on Ingredients
- Pizza Crust: I like to use a whole-grain pizza crust, but any type of crust works. Use gluten-free to make this a gluten-free pizza.
- BBQ Sauce: Look for a BBQ with no added sugar or sweetened with a natural sugar like honey, agave, maple syrup, or fruit.
- Chickpeas: Drain and rinse them well before adding to the pizza crust.

Commonly Asked Questions
You can store pizza leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. I recommend reheating your slices in the oven before eating so they can crisp up a bit.
There are so many ways to use delicious leftover ranch! Use it on top of pasta salad or as a dip for veggies, tofu nuggets, or crispy tofu tenders.
Bake the pizza according to the pizza crust instructions (including any pre-bake instructions for the crust only). You can also bake it to your personal preference in terms of crispiness so keep an eye on it in the oven.
“This was so good! Neither my husband or I are vegan. However, the older I get the more I find the best thing on my plate are the veggies. My husband agreed, not happily, to one meatless dinner a week. This is the second recipe I’ve found that he has said he didn’t miss the meat. It was a hit!!!”
