Notes on Ingredients
- Almond Milk: Any non-dairy milk is fine. Be sure to choose plain, unsweetened milk.
- Protein Powder: Use any protein powder you like in any flavor. I like the Wellious vegan chocolate protein but any kind will work!
- Cacao Powder: Cocoa powder also works.
- Maple Syrup: Adds sweetness to the pudding without refined sugar. You can sub for any liquid sweetener like agave, date syrup, or honey if not strictly vegan.

Commonly Asked Questions
This pudding requires the chia seeds to become thick and creamy. If you’re looking for a chia-seed free pudding recipe, make my Creamy Chocolate Avocado Pudding! It’s so good!
Depending on what protein powder you use, maybe! I like the Wellious vegan chocolate peanut butter protein because it’s extremely smooth and doesn’t taste protein-y at all! If you’re worried about that flavor, you can substitute the protein with an additional ½ cup of cacao or cocoa powder.
This pudding makes 1-2 servings, so 15g or 30g depending on serving size!
For this pudding, you must use a high-speed blender to properly blend the chia seeds. My Creamy Chocolate Avocado Pudding uses just a food processor, though!
