Antioxidant Superfood Smoothie (Vegan/GF)

Nutrient-Packed and Yummy.

Everyone needs this smoothie in their lives. It is filled with antioxidants that help to prevent and fight disease, it is very high in vitamin C, healthy fats from the hemp seeds, hormone balancing benefits from the maca, and is all around a nutrient dense snack or meal. I like to have this for breakfast but feel free to have it whenever you need a boost. Make sure to use a ripe banana for this smoothie (and any time you have a banana). An unripe banana is not good for digestion and bananas actually contain increased benefits when they are brown, spotted and ripe.

The antioxidants in blueberries are extremely powerful – they prevent cancer, Alzheimer’s and are very anti-aging. A lot of people are against smoothies but as a holistic health coach, I am all for them! I think smoothies are a great way to pack a lot of nutrients into one drink that you normally wouldn’t get otherwise. Don’t be afraid of fruit or eating “too much” fruit. 1 ripe banana

3/4 cup frozen blueberries

3/4 cup frozen pineapple

2 tbsp hemp seeds

1 tsp maca powder

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

How to: 

Blend in your blender and enjoy!
