My Skincare MUST-HAVES (Vegan + Natural + Cruelty Free)

Did someone say skincare?! IDK about you but I am OBSESSED with skincare, skincare products, and anything that revolves around improving my skin. I am currently sitting by the pool at my apartment in Boca (in the shade of course), drinking a grapefruit La Croix, and excited to share all of my fav products with you.

1. Moisturizer with SPF

Daily sun exposure is the greatest contributor to aging and to the development of skin cancer. I, just like the next person, love being tan, but a tan is simply just visible sun damage. I am sure most of you would agree that you want to age gracefully, so my #1 tip would be to stay out of the sun. However, sun exposure is often unavoidable. Wearing a moisturizer with SPF every day is key to protecting yourself from incidental sun exposure. Sun rays penetrate through windows – so even while you’re driving, your skin can be damaged. I KNOW, crazy right?! Windows only filter out UVB rays but not UVA rays, which penetrate deep into the skin and cause long-term damage. At the moment, I am living for DRMTLGY’s broad spectrum SPF 45. I like it because it’s lightweight, does not leave a white cast, doesn’t clog pores, and is anti-aging. It contains both hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, ingredients which combat aging, plump the skin, and help to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

2. Night Cream

In my opinion, everyone needs a good night cream. A night cream will typically be richer, thicker and heavier than a daily moisturizer. It should be the last step of your nightly routine and it will really lock the moisture into your skin so you wake up with hydrated, refreshed, and plump skin. I personally have drier skin so a night cream is a must! I was having a hard time finding a night cream that really penetrated into my skin (rather than just sitting on the surface), and I recently fell in love with Earth Science Apricot Intensive Night Cream. It has apricot and vitamin E, which are very healing and nourishing. It is also very inexpensive, ($11 on Amazon), so I’m not complaining.

3. Vitamin C Serum

A vitamin C serum is really a winner. It brightens skin, evens out skin tone, fades acne scars, eliminates dark spots, and treats hyperpigmentation. Unfortunately, the Vitamin C serum I am using right now is not sold online, but any of them will do. I like to add this serum after my toner.

4. Exfoliator

Over time, dead skin builds up on our faces and can give us dull, tired-looking appearances. Exfoliation is key to looking rejuvenated, bright and awake. Getting rid of dead skin also allows for better absorption of other products. Lately, I have been OBSESSED with Neogen Bio-peel Pads. They leave your skin feeling so soft and renewed. They come in three varieties: lemon, green tea, and red wine. I am using the green tea one at the moment which is infused with tea tree (great for acne prone skin). I like to use them 2-3 days a week after cleansing.

5. Tone One

Your typical westernized toners are often astringent, filled with alcohol and very drying. Toners should be moisturizing and hydrating for the skin and should act as a prep before putting on all of your products. A toner will aid in minimizing pores and will help further clean dirt off the skin’s surface. I really like Thayer’s alcohol-free witch hazel toner with rose petals and aloe vera. I like to either add a little to a cotton ball and swipe over my face after I have cleansed, or I will just add a few drops onto my fingers and then will pat into my skin.

Hope these tips help you achieve GLOWING skin!
