Vegan + Cruelty Free Skincare Products (You Need to Try)

Hi beautiful friends!

Not only do I love healthy plant-based eating + cooking but I also am a huge skincare junkie. I want to share all of the products I have been loving in my skincare routine. All of the products I have linked are non-toxic, vegan, cruelty-free and all under $60.

Hydrating Cleanser

This cleanser is so hydrating, it doesn’t strip the skin of it’s natural oils yet it does a great job of removing dirt, excess oil and make-up. This cleanser is best for oily skin types and you can use this in both the morning and evening.

It’s hard these days to find a basic cleanser that has simple ingredients but is also effective and this one really fits the bill.

Their website explains that “Briut Essentials’ Rose Hip Seed Cleanser helps deliver skin nourishing, and collagen boosting vitamins in an invigorating and rejuvenating wash”. I love all of the Briut essentials products as they are non-toxic, vegan, and made with recyclable containers.

Other vegan cleanser I love: Kylie Skin cleanser – it’s actually very hydrating even though it’s a foaming cleanser.

Toner

This korean green tea toner is super high quality and the first ingredient in it is green tea extract. This balances the ph of your skin while soothing it at the same time. It helps calm redness, sooth irritation and provides all day hydration from the hyaluronic acid.

Good news: All ISNTREE products are formulated without Paraben, Phenoxyethanol, Artificial and Synthetic Dyes, Artificial Fragrance, Formaldehyde, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Irritant Essential Oils, Mineral Oils, Petrolatum, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Benzophenone, Avobenzone, Butylated Hydroxytoluene, Isopropyl Alcohol, Paraffin, Triethanolamine, Chlorphenesin, and Triisopropanolamine that may cause allergic reaction, skin irritation, and skin sensitizing.

The company explains that “it helps to restore moisture and oil balance on skin. The hydrating formula will be absorbed deeply through the layer of skin in seconds without clogging pores or heavy feeling”. Suitable for most skin types.

Use this on a cotton pad swipe over skin or pour into hands and press into the skin gently.

Oatmeal Physical Exfoliator

This oatmeal cleanser/exfoliator is a game changer. It brightens the skin, makes it baby soft and supple. The best part is that it smells like warm cinnamon oatmeal…I want to eat it while I am using it on my face (lol!).

My friend Sandra actually started this company – she is a #girlboss! Also, if you want to support a female black owned company, I encourage you to support Sandra! Her products are incredible. Most of her products are vegan but some use honey so if you’re strict vegan, look out for that.

Sandra describes this product as, “a gentle cleanser and exfoliant that removes impurities naturally, while providing light exfoliation – perfect for daily use. Feel the difference with your first use. Skin will be brighter, and more supple without the use of overly drying soap products”.

Chemical Exfoliator: Resurfacing Pads

There are physical exfoliator and chemical exfoliator. This chemical exfoliator from Elemis uses lactic acid to renew the surface of your skin without irritating it. I have rosacea and these work super well on my break-out prone skin. They are a bit pricier but they work. I like to cut each pad in half to make them last longer and I only use them in my night-time routine.

If you cut the pads in half they will last you 120 days!

Mask

I have been a fan of cocokind since they started their company a few years back: their products are vegan, cruelty-free and have super clean + simple ingredients. This chlorophyll detox face mask is so clean you could put it in your smoothie. If you have dry skin you can mix the mask with oil or if you have more oily skin, you can mix the mask with water.

Cocokind explains that this mask works to, “clarify, soothe, and brighten the look of dull skin”. It also reduces puffiness and improves circulation for that beautiful youthful glow.

I always come back to this mask because it makes you GLOW!

Vitamin C Serum

I have been using this Vitamin C serum from Clean Skin Club for the past couple of weeks and I am OBSESSED. I knew I had to include this because it has made my skin brighter softer, more even and it doesn’t cause any irritation. It has watermelon, green tea and pineapple which we love.

Clean Skin Club shares that “our Vitamin-C Brightening Booster brightens the complexion for glowing skin, protects against UV damage, and helps reduce eventual signs of aging. Additionally, it works well with acne-prone skin due to powerful anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties in pineapple enzymes and green tea extract. Add to your moisturizer or night cream for a vitamin-c boost, or use alone as a serum”.

You only need 3 drops of this at a time so it will last you a while.

Hyaluronic Glow Sleep Serum

This adds so much moisture to your face without it being greasy. Honestly, it plumps your skin and makes it dewy, glowy, perfectly hydrated and so youthful. I am very into this.

On the company’s website it says: “hydra glow sleep serum instantly absorbs and quenches dehydrated skin with our triple-action hyaluronic acid formula”.

It’s vegan, cruelty-free is formulated without harsh ingredients. This is worth the $45 dollars because you only need a tiny bit at night and it lasts a while. Yes please!

Night Oil: rosehip for the win

Rosehip oil is my tried-and-true oil. It’s a myth that if you have oily skin, you shouldn’t add oils to your face. Not true at all and not all oils fall into the same category. Rosehip oil is extremely anti-inflammatory and it’s super moisturizing without that greasy feeling. It’s also non-comedogenic so don’t worry – it won’t clog your pores!

Benefits of using rosehip oil include: decreases breakouts, soothes redness, calms irritation, evens skin-tone, makes skin super soft, makes you glow without feeling greasy, helps with hyperpigmentation.

Oil should come last in your skincare routine as it’s the heaviest! After you put on your moisturizer, massage a dime sized amount into your skin. You will thank me later.

Hope you enjoy these skincare products I am personally loving. This isn’t sponsored at all, I just wanted to share some vegan cruelty-free products. If you try out any of these, let me know, I love your feedback!

In good health,

Danielle
