What’s the difference between overnight oats and regular oatmeal?

There’s a big difference. Overnight oats aren’t cooked. The oats are soaked overnight, softening them, making them easier to digest! Oatmeal is typically cooked and eaten warm while overnight oats are soaked overnight and eaten cold in the morning! It’s absolutely delicious and to be honest, I prefer overnight oats to regular warm cooked oatmeal.

You’re welcome to warm it up in the morning but try it cold, it might surprise you!

What makes these chia overnight oats?!

Adding chia seeds to the overnight oats makes it like a perfect mix of chia pudding and overnight oats. The chia seeds also add a health boost to this breakfast. Chia seeds add omega 3’s, protein, gut healthy fiber, vitamins and minerals.

After the overnight oats soak overnight, the chia and oats soak up the milk and make the perfect consistency. Chia makes the perfect addition to these vegan chia overnight oats.

Why macadamia nut milk?

I love macadamia nut milk – it’s easily one of my favorite vegan milks! It’s creamy, nutty, a little sweet, smooth and absolutely delicious. My favorite brand is Milkadamia and I am excited to have teamed up with them on this recipe! Their vegan nut milks are made from raw macadamia nuts that are sustainably farmed (so cool right?!). If you want to read more about their regenerative farming practices, head over to Milkadamia’s website to learn all about it! Milkadamia’s products are all non-GMO, soy-free, gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan. Use the Milkadamia store locator.

Also, I don’t know about you but I LOVE a company that is earth-friendly and actually cares about our planet and the animals. If you are allergic to nuts or can’t find it in stores near you, use any unsweetened nut milk.
