Homemade Oat Milk (Vegan + Gluten-Free)

Homemade Oat Milk! OMG!

I am sure you have tried almond milk before but have you jumped on the oat milk band wagon yet? I am not really a fan of the added ingredients in store bought non-dairy milk so I decided to make my own…it was SO easy and it tastes delish.

The ingredients are super super super simple and this recipe is cheap to make (win-win)! Also, the oats make this milk a little thicker and creamier than some other milks, it tastes like such a treat!

Furthermore, you could add this to a smoothie, to cereal, granola, or to dip chocolate chip cookies in.

This recipe is:

✔️Vegan

✔️Gluten-free

✔️Soy-free

✔️Nut-free

Oat Benefits

Oats are super high in fiber, they are great for lowering cholesterol and for supporting heart health.

Due to their fiber content, oats are great for balancing blood sugar levels as well! In addition, oats are AMAZING for getting in those essential b-vitamins.

Oats contain minerals like 20% of your daily iron and 44% of your daily magnesium. Moral of the story, you gotta try this oat milk!

To make this recipe I used my Vitamix and my handy nut milk bag.

After you blend the oat milk in your blender – you HAVE to strain it in a nut milk bag otherwise its going to be chunky and way too thick. If you want that smooth milk texture, you need to strain it. I strained mine 3 times to get it just right.

If you don’t have a nut milk bag I highly recommend getting one, you can use it for so many things. For example, you can make homemade juices without a juicer. Just blend veggies in a blender and strain in the nut milk bag.

You all need to try this! IT IS SO GOOD!

I have always soaked and rinsed the oats before blending when I make oat milk, like when you make nut milks. It helps to cut back on the stickiness
