Notes on Ingredients
- Apple: I used a honey crisp apple but any similar variety is fine!
- Dates: Medjool dates work best in this date caramel, but another variety should work fine (deglect noor for example). Use leftover dates and make Copycat Girl Scout Samoas next!
- Peanut butter: Can substitute for any nut or seed butter.

Commonly Asked Questions
Yes! Substitute the peanut butter with sun butter and be sure to use an allergen-friendly chocolate chip.
You can use any kind of apples. I like something with extra crunch for these so I used honey crisp.
Date caramel will last in the fridge for up to a week after making. You can use it on a dip for apples, mixed into yogurt bowls, on top of ice cream. Swirl it into my Vegan Peanut Butter Ice cream.

Extra Helpful Tips
- Other topping ideas are: almond butter, chopped pecans, crushed pretzels, cacao nibs, and peanuts.
- This recipe likely won’t use all of the date caramel. Store leftovers in the fridge.
- Want to reduce the sugar? Use a low or no sugar chocolate chip or omit the chocolate drizzle entirely.
- If the peanut butter is too thick to drizzle, add it to a bag then cut the tip to manually drizzle on.

Vegan Apple Dessert Nachos
Equipment
- 1 microwave
- 1 food processor for date caramel, or blender

Ingredients

- 1 tablespoon peanut butter runny
- ½ cup dark chocolate chips plus extra for topping
- 10 medjool dates pitted
- ½ cup water
- ⅛ cinnamon
- sea salt
Instructions
- Slice apples and spread an even layer on a plate.
- Drizzle peanut butter on top.
